Purpose of Position The primary purpose of this position is to verifying benefits and eligibility on scheduled procedures, direct admissions, as well as ensure authorization as received.
Scope of Responsibility Additionally, this position is responsible for verifying in-network status and creating patient estimates.
Job Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required Associate or Bachelors degree preferred Two years experience with health insurance, authorization and referral management preferred.
Hospital patient registration or physician office scheduling/patient registration experience preferred.
Working knowledge of basic medical terminology Good oral and written communication skills Ability to work on multiple tasks with attention to detail, handle urgent tasks and exercise good independent judgment when necessary Ability to use personal computers including knowledge of Microsoft office products Possess the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with customers, both internal and external, including but not limited to:
coworkers, patients, patients family members, physicians, physician office staff and insurance company representatives .
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
